In Wuthering Waves, side quests are more than simple errands. They unlock camera tools, Echo training, hidden areas, and even chain quests. This guide focuses on the P–Z side quests available in Huanglong, updated for 2026 players who want to clean up their quest log after the Ominous Star main quest.

But where should a completionist begin? The early quests in this alphabetical range often unlock important systems, so they are a strong starting point.

Camera and lighthouse tasks

After completing the Ominous Star main quest and wandering around Jinzhou, players can receive Photos of Jinzhou from the Quest Menu. If it does not appear, checking the crowd in the middle of Jinzhou and saving the old man on the rooftop will force the quest to start.

The objective is simple: take pictures of three specific items for Bowen. This quest also unlocks the Camera function, making it one of the most useful P–Z side quests in the early game.

For lighthouse repairs, players can work on Repair the Lighthouse at the Nameless Bay and Repair the Lighthouse in Desorock Highland. Both objectives are similar, and the Nameless Bay task can also serve the Lost History quest line. At Camp Overwatch, the quest asks the Rover to escort a Junior Engineer safely while defeating all incoming enemies.

Radar and rescue missions

Restart the Radar begins at the Rearguard Base. The name makes the goal clear, but the three Surveillance Stations can confuse new players. At the first station, instead of looking for a door, players should climb to the rooftop, find a crack, and use a plunge attack to break it open.

At the third station, the Fissured Ledge can be destroyed by using the Levitator to grab a Tacetite Fulminate and throw it at the wall. After that, the quest navigation handles the rest.

For something much shorter, Save the World? Save the Cat! has a long name but a tiny objective. Talking to Xiaoju near Taoyuan Vile and helping her find Lulu on the map is enough to finish the quest.

Combat and Echo training

Shooting Party is not just a simple contest. Entering the shooting competition at the camp west of Settle Range rewards players with a robot part that is required for the No Response Tonight side quest. In other words, completing Shooting Party first is necessary before finishing that follow-up.

The Silver-Haired Echo Trainer series starts with Chixia in Jinzhou. These quests are combat-focused and ask players to defeat several Echoes. Part II triggers after the SOL3 Phase Ascension I Tutorial Quest and asks for Simulation Training and an Echo upgrade. A useful 2026 tip: players do not need to spend Waveplate after the challenge; leaving the domain is enough. Part III then asks the player to tune an Echo and follow the navigation to completion.

Tacet Discord Hunter is a longer combat quest that starts by talking to Koko in Jinzhou. When the navigation says to follow the traces, using the Sensor utility reveals a glowing line on the river. Following it west toward Tolling Stream continues the quest. At the end, players must defeat a Bell-Borne Geochelone. Those who win earn the achievement Only the Bell Tolls.

Puzzles, hidden NPCs, and lore chains

The Fabled Magnetic Cube Mechanics has three parts, but each one is locked behind a 24-hour wait after the previous part. The engineer at Tiger's Maw Mine needs three cube puzzles solved per part. In one puzzle, breaking the boxes reveals a switch hidden beneath one of them, and that switch can move the blue wall.

The Eternal Concert begins at Donglu Research Station and leads to Nostalgia Isle. When players need to enter the Record Store, they should use the flaming flower on the roof and throw it at the thorns to burn them. The rest of the quest is straightforward.

Time to Study is easy to miss. Why? Because it only appears when the in-game clock is changed to 10:00 AM. A boy named Jiu shows up beside the Resonance Nexus in Jinzhou, but he has no quest indicator. Players must talk to him directly to start the quest.

The Tales of the Past and Present series has eight hidden quests scattered across Huanglong, each starting with Torn Pages or Data Chips found in a different sub-region. These are ideal for lore hunters who enjoy exploration.

The Past is the Future begins with Shixia in Jinzhou and uses the Sensor utility to find a gift. After the Introduction, changing the in-game time to the next day starts Continued, and another time skip unlocks Epilogue.

For Under the Moonlit Banyan, the quest may appear automatically, but players should first complete When the Forest is No Longer Dim, When Moonlight Shines in the Forest, and the Lingyang Companion Stories because they share connected NPCs.

Finally, Wait for Godo starts near the Tower of Adversity. The task is to climb the watchtower, stand guard, and defeat incoming enemies before a treasure chest appears.
